I work for a small electronics company where often enough, too many electrons surge through my body at the speed of light.  I like to travel, so the occasional 300 to 500 millisecond visits to the 4th dimension somewhat satisfy that wanderlust.  I should retire from this technical and engineering stuff, but the electron rush is 100% legal and it doesn't make me nauseous, cause me to pass out or do stupid things.  I love what I do and the pay isn't too bad, either!   I'll probably be here until forced to accept Social Security as a way of life.

When not at work, I love to fly.  Jets are exhilarating and hard to handle, I'm told.  Cessna's are fun to fly, but expensive to operate and maintain.  Plus, you have to park them  somewhere usually too far from home.  Next option: Ultralights!  Especially Powered Parachutes!! They are easy to work on, easy and fun to fly and won't kill you if you make a mistake (unless you're an idiot lacking a good excuse). You can park them at home and tow them out to a close by airstrip any time you feel like getting airborne.  This is my 'Six Chuter II'  Powered Parachute which sees a lot of sky time. The faster one passenger and somewhat dangerous highwing ultralight is gone and this 2 seat PPC took its place. No more hangar fees or long drives to the airpark. Now, we can be in the sky in 20 minutes after the whim to go flying happens.  Any fearless passenger can come along for the ride and enjoy the low and slow flight that's very much like what a bird must experience (minus the feathers, mites, and having to sleep on sticks) or like riding a motorcycle with wings.

We enjoy trying new and different restaurants as much flying. This picture was taken  at an English style eatery.

Kidney pie? Blood pudding? Stomach pump?

We liked the atmosphere and the authentic British owners, but after the meal it occurred to me that I should  have ordered an English cheeseburger??? and a pint of decent stout. If ever we decide to visit Great Britain and Elaine's many cousins, aunts and uncles, we'll first be sure to have have all the McDonald's and Wendy's circled on a local map. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in Mexico, don't drink the water. When in England, diet (or stick to the fish and chips)!

Back home and out in the country. We live on 10 acres of heavily wooded land that sits on a hillside with a view through the trees of the farmland below.  Life is, and always has been very good to us. When it's time to relax and get our heels higher than our hips, we can sit quietly and enjoy the here and now and each other's company as the sun sets behind the hills. Five days out of seven in Oklahoma, the sky will be painted in colors and hues without names. Two or three times a month a big, pale yellow moon will rise slowly over the white oak and evergreen  trees that are everywhere around us. When the sound of millions of tree frogs in those oaks gets to be a bit too much, the indoors becomes more inviting. Some serious couch potato-ing, board gaming or reading for a few more hours usually follows ................and then........

.......it becomes tomorrow. And tomorrow, if the weather and winds will cooperate, maybe we'll go play in the sky for a few hours from a different airstrip. Maybe meet some new friends or fly with some old ones. Maybe notice something that wasn't there before or just see it differently on this particular fly over. Maybe embark on an unexpected aerial adventure or just enjoy the wind in our faces at 500 feet above the ever changing Oklahoma terrain.  Most definitely, we've seen the world differently with each take off and safe landing, or controlled crash depending the aircraft and seating arrangements.
